Cuppage/etal/1986, 280, `This site occupies an area of open ground in the centre of the village of Knockane...The precise nature of the site and its original outline and extent are uncertain'.
Okasha/Forsyth/2001, 147: `It appears to be an early Christian site, although of uncertain extent and nature. In addition to four sub-megalithic cists of uncertain date, probably graves and possibly Bronze Age, there was found an early Christian cross-incised stone with a chi-rho on the upper arm of the cross. Cuppage noted that a loom-weight was found on the site at the same time as the inscribed fragment'.
