The third multidisciplinary conference on 'Popular Antiquities: Folklore and Archaeology' will be held at the Institute on 12 & 13 October 2013. The deadline for the call for papers is 28 June 2013. 

Popular Antiquities: Folklore & Archaeology

This year's Popular Antiquities: Folklore & Archaeology Conference will be held at the Institute of Archaeology, UCL on Saturday 12th - Sunday 13th October 2013, and the call for contributions is now open. The conference, now in its third year, is jointly organised by the Institute and the Folklore Society.

Papers or any other contributions are invited that explore the relationship between archaeology and folklore, with topics including, but not limited to, antiquarianism, folklore of archaeology/archaeology of folklore, revivalism, representation, appropriation and heritage.

Abstracts of c.250 words for 20 minute papers/perfomances are invited for consideration.
