The Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for a Research Associate on the NERC-funded 'Evolution of Rice Systems Project' (Ref.:1321826). The deadline for applications is 8 April 2013.

The principal duty and responsibility of the post, on the project led by Dorian Fuller, will be to expand and apply our analogue method for reconstructing rice cultivation systems, with a focus on archaeobotanical macro-remains.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Archaeology, a background and field experience in South East Asian archaeobotany and lab experience with identification of South East Asian taxa.

The post is funded for 3 years in the first instance.
