Thermal image of part of the south elevation of the Institute building

The Institute of Archaeology's award-winning Green Team continues to improve its green credentials, encouraging envronmental sustainability.

The Institute's Facilities Manager Sandra Bond carried out an energy audit of the building this week with UCL Energy Manager Dave Anderson. As well as looking at the building’s energy use figures, the audit involved thermal imaging recording to identify possible opportunities for energy conservation.  The image shows some of the south elevation windows of the Institute building which have radiators against the glazing; these could be insulated to prevent heat loss.

The Institute's annual book sale takes place next Tuesday, 18 February, the proceeds of which go towards book conservation and other initiatives while Institute staff also operate a book sharing scheme.
