Lost Love at the Hunterian Museum

Institute alumna Hayley Kruger (BA Archaeology, 2000) and now Learning and Events Officer at the Hunterian Museum invites you to celebrate lost love at the museum on 14 February.

Following an 8-year stint as Education Administrator for the Wallace Collection, Hayley moved from 18th century decorative and fine arts to 18th Century anatomical specimens when a position became vacant at the Hunterian Museum.

Her role now involves running educational workshops for GCSE and 6th-form students and creating six-monthly themed programmes of event for adults and families. As part of this rolling programme, Hayley is keen to promote her forthcoming ‘alternative’ event for Valentines Evening which she is sure will appeal to Institute students – both past and present:

Lost Love at the Hunterian Museum - 14 February

Celebrate lost love with this (anti) Valentine’s evening event. Follow a specially written ‘love trail’, write a ‘limerick of loss’, learn from a cardiac surgeon about fixing a 'broken' heart and discover what else you stood to lose besides love through syphilis. Finally create a souvenir at the ‘pickle a part’ workshop - please bring your own jam jar with lid.

DISCLAIMER surgery cannot always mend a broken heart!

£2 suggested donation, payable on the door. Drop-in event, no booking required.

Age: Adult
