The Institute of Archaeology produces many key books for archaeologists worldwide in partnership, since December 2015, with Routledge, a branch of Taylor & Francis.
The overall series editor is Professor Ruth Whitehouse, Chair of the Institute's Publications Committee. This committee meets at least three times a year to discuss new proposals, appoint referees and decide whether to recommend publication of a manuscript to Routledge.
Well over seventy titles - research volumes, key site reports, ground-breaking analyses and innovative theoretical works - are now available as Institute publications. They fall into four broad categories: Recent titles in the General Series; Critical Cultural Heritage Series; Encounters with Ancient Egypt; Reprints and Early titles.
