Reminiscences Wanted: St George's Hospital, Hornchurch

Opened in 1938, the former St George's Hospital in Hornchurch closed its doors in 2012 and is presently being redeveloped for housing. A history of the hospital is therefore being prepared, in order to record the site and its buildings for posterity.

Do you have any recollections of St George's, either as a member of staff or a patient, that you would be willing to share?  Do you remember the requisitioning of the hospital by the RAF during the Second World War?
