We celebrated the publication of our new monograph A view from the edge: Archaeological investigation on the Manhood Peninsula, Selsey for the Medmerry Managed Realignment Scheme at a book launch at The Novium Museum, Chichester!

Terry Gretton (Team Van Oord), Pippa Lewis and Andrew Gilham (Environment Agency) admire the new monograph.

The event was hosted by Archaeology South-East (ASE) and the Environment Agency, who commissioned the archaeological work ahead of a large open-coast flood-relief scheme in an area rich with archaeological potential. Through a complex programme of investigations spanning a two-year construction period we uncovered sites ranging from the Bronze Age, Saxon period, medieval period and activity relating to World War II.

Around forty people attended the book launch, including contractors, members of Chichester district council, external specialists, and of course ASE archaeologists and representatives from the Environment Agency.

The A View From The Edge monograph is available to buy from the UCL online store.
