Biography:

I am a Latin American film studies scholar and have published 3 monographs and a co-edited collection on topics including Latin American women’s filmmaking, and the child in Latin American film. I am currently researching the role of film and visual culture in Latin American environmental justice activism, including films about water poisoning in Mexico and indigenous defense of the Ecuadorean Amazon, and the work of artist Carolina Caycedo on the defense of Colombia’s Magdalena River from mega-dams.
