The death of Philippe Bodin in a motorbike accident on 13 May
2001 was
a terrible blow to everyone who knew him - he was a senior scientist in my group for over 10 years and a personal friend to each of us. In addition
to being a very good scientist, he was the 'life-and-soul' of our Institute- always good humoured, always willing to help others, organize great
