Jacqueline is Professor of Comparative Politics at the School of Politics and Government of the Universidad Nacional de San Martin in Argentina, where she is also Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs, and a tenured Research Fellow at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) in Argentina. She holds a DPhil in Politics and an MPhil in Latin American Studies from the University of Oxford, as well as a BA in Political Science from the University of Buenos Aires.

Her research, which focuses on subnational comparative politics, has been published in numerous journals. She is the co-editor of Illiberal Practices: Democratic Variance within Large Federal Democracies with Laurence Whitehead (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2016), The Oxford Handbook of Education and Globalization with Paola Mattei, Xavier Dumay and Eric Mangez (OUP, 2023) and the forthcoming volume Mounting Pressures on the Rule of Law: Governability for Development and Democracy in Latin America with Laurence Witehead (Routledge). In 2022-23 she was President of the Red Eurolatinoamericana de Gobernabilidad para el Desarrollo (RedGob) and its Vice-President in 2024.

Jacqueline is set to deliver a series of engaging lectures and  workshops during her visit to UCL, the first on 27 January 2025, on Uneven Democratization within Countries: Latin America and Beyond.
