Shodona Kettle to chair Haiti event at University of London's Institute of Modern Languages Research

UCL Americas PhD student Shodona Kettle will act as chair of an upcoming event on Haiti organised by the Centre for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) of the Institute of Modern Languages Research (IMLR). At this event, titled 'A Revindication of Haitian Futures: Beyond Disaster Discourses' Professor Mimi Sheller (Dean of the Global School at Worcester Polytechnic Institute) will seek to re-situate external interpretations of Haiti's predicament(s) through the lens of Haitian history and struggles, and its context within the wider Caribbean community.
