Anthony Teitler's new book on US policy towards Afghanistan is out now

Congratulations to Anthony Teitler, who gained his PhD at the Institute of the Americas in 2018.  His book US Policy Towards Afghanistan, 1979-2014: 'A Force for Good' which is based on his doctoral dissertation, has just been published in Routledge's series, 'Studies in US Foreign Policy.' 

Employing a constructivist theory of international relations, Anthony shows how the intertwining of language and social practices provided US policymakers with a shared meaning of their Afghan policy as a force to promote good rather than national self-interest.
