To mark the release of an exciting anthology about the Windrush children and their descendants this autumn, editor Charlie Brinkhurst-Cuff and one of the anthology’s contributors, Maria del Pilar Kaladeen, will be speaking about their respective roles in this important new book.

About the Speakers
Charlie Brinkhurst-Cuff
Author and journalist
Award-winning writer and journalist Charlie Brinkhurst-Cuff is the editor of Mother Country and the Deputy Editor of the online and print magazine gal-dem. She is a freelance writer for a number of publications including the FT, the Guardian and VICE. Charlie will be speaking about the motivation and research behind this new publication and her determination to include in her book, a diversity of voices from the remarkable Windrush generation and their descendants.
Maria del Pilar Kaladeen
Author
Maria del Pilar Kaladeen is an academic whose work focuses on the history of indenture in the Caribbean. She is the co-editor of We Mark Your Memory the first anthology of writing by the descendants of indentured labourers from across the Commonwealth. Maria will be speaking about the body of literature written by Caribbean descendants of indentured labourers who were also part of the Windrush generation. She will also read from ‘Invisible Passengers’, her contribution to Mother Country
