About the Speaker

Angela Leaney (UCL History 1990)

CEO at Hogan Security Group

Anglea Leaney

Angela Leaney is the CEO of Hogan Security Group (HSG), the door safety and security specialists who engineer, supply, install and service life safety and security products for doors. HSG is a NJ State Contract Vendor for Security Hardware & Services, holder of contract #185 for Hunterdon County ESC Purchasing Co-op, NJPMC certified, and a woman & minority-owned business. HSG is proud to have made more than 25,000 doors - and the people who use them - safe and secure.

She previously founded The Bespoke CMO, the on-demand CMO where elevated insight, strategy, branding and marketing accelerated business in mobile, adtech, healthcare, entertainment and professional services.
As CMO Newsweek, she executed a brand repositioning, involving business and editorial stakeholders, across print and digital platforms.

She was the sole female management exec for her five year tenure at The Harlem Globetrotters, where she led brand, creative and digital marketing, developing a significant social media footprint from scratch, significantly increased annual repeat business and launched new experiential and digital products for the brands core consumers - kids.

Angela’s career has been a one of "firsts.” She is the first CEO of Hogan Security Group, was the first CMO of Newsweek, first Creative Director of Nickelodeon’s preschool & parents division, first SVP Brand Communications of Nickelodeon’s digital channels and first Account Planning & Research Partner of Ogilvy & Mather LA.

She serves as a mentor and sponsor of emerging leaders, and is a member of the board of advisors for VStar Entertainment Group, a leading privately-held producer of live entertainment. A native Londoner and now US import, she is a source of constant surprise to her Medieval & Modern History professors at University College London, a highly energetic ENTJ, a certified SALTO installer and with the right screwdriver, can find her way around a mortise lock. Oh, and she occasionally walks on hot coals.
