Sign upAs both an educator and a parent, I’ve come to understand something vital: when families engage meaningfully with their child’s university experience, students tend to thrive.

How the alumni community supports UCL students
Current students can:
- Connect with UCL’s global alumni groups, either by attending alumni-led events in their home country or connecting virtually to get advice and broaden their network of inspiring and supportive alumni in their home communities.
- Receive mentorship from talented UCL alumni through:
- Our Alumni Skills Mentoring scheme, where alumni teach students new skills and broaden their career horizons over a period of three months.
- Our popular Alumni-Student Chats programme, which pairs a student with an alum who shares a similar degree discipline or country of origin for a one-off conversation.
- Attend professional development events delivered by expert alumni who help students and graduates enhance their personal and professional development.
Once a student graduates, they gain access to our recent graduate support, and remain a member of the UCL community for life.
Code of conduct
Families who engage with UCL Advancement are expected to adhere to our Alumni, Friends and Supporter Code of Conduct.
In line with the UCL Student Privacy Policy, the UCL Advancement team will not share any personal information about your student. You can learn more about how UCL handles student data on our Information for Parents webpage.
The purpose of the Family Programme is to build community between families and UCL; as such, membership of this programme does not allow members any influence over UCL’s independent decision-making processes, such as admissions, examinations, and degree results.
