New ideas for Turing interest groups invited
10 December 2020
The first of four opportunities to suggest ideas for new interest groups at the Alan Turing Institute in 2021 is now open for applications.
Interest groups allow people to gather around a shared interest in data science and AI. They can help sow the seeds of new research collaborations and communicate shared areas of interest.
The closing date for receiving Interest Group applications in the current round is 15 January 2021.
Details about forming an interest group and the form to submit your idea are available on Turing Complete, the Alan Turing Institute’s intranet.
During 2020, 15 new Interest groups were launched at the Turing, including:
- Media in the digital age
- Game AI
- Entrepreneurship
- Facilitating responsible participation in data science
There are now 33 active interest groups with four currently on pause waiting for relaunch.
To convene an interest group you must be affiliated with the Turing already, however interest group participants can also come from organisations beyond the Turing.
