African Voices @UCL
10 August 2015
UCL will formally launch its African Studies Centre with a series of events at the end of January 2016.
The events will be held under the title 'African Voices @UCL' and have been funded by UCL Grand Challenges. African Voices will emphasize our goal of co-producing knowledge about Africa with African colleagues on the continent and in the diaspora.
For this event we will be working with the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar, Senegal; the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and the African Population and Health Research Council in Nairobi Kenya amongst others.
There will be talks and panel discussions by researchers as well as cultural events. Staff and students will be involved and multiple events will be open to the public. The opening part of the events season will involve a photo competition with results displayed online and the winners to be displayed in the UCL Cloisters.
Further details on the planned events and the photo competition can be found on our African Voices page.
