UCL DECIDE Engineer Kishan Gupta has won the Best Open Innovation Idea Award in the Converge Challenge Open Innovation.
Kishan – who is also Managing Director of Stuxbot Technology – won the award for UXCam, which enables user-experience designers to capture real-time data in real world scenarios.
The company beat off an international field of other teams from five European countries in the final of Converge Challenge Open Innovation held at the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
Converge Challenge Open Innovation is a trans-national initiative for university participants and was borne from a need to stimulate the collaborative process based on pan-European knowledge – sharing ideas and innovating new concepts from a broad range of sources across Europe.
It is carried out in partnership with local governments, universities, business support services, and other public bodies to deliver programme of activities across the UK, France, Germany, Ireland and Belgium.
“Kishan has already proved himself as part of the team developing the UCL DECIDE platform,” said Gups Jagpal, Deputy Director of UCL Advances. “This award is confirmation of his creativity and commitment to working at the cutting-edge of digital innovation.”
The Open Innovation Project is funded by the INTERREG IVB North-West Europe Programme.
