Knowledge Exchange Associate
Jason completed his EngD in the Computer Science Department at UCL. His thesis sat within an intersection between computer science and neuropsychology, centring on affective cognition, and visual masking within virtual environments. The research included elements of priming, perception, social cognition and decision making. This work gave Jason a good working knowledge of virtual and gaming environments and human-computer interaction, using various software and hardware platforms, as well as strengthening his programming and asset creation skills.
Prior to the above, Jason gained both project and staff management experience from database development and information management roles. Additionally he is a trained counsellor and has studied extensively in neuroscience and psychology, both prior to and during his doctorate. As Knowledge Exchange Associate at UCL, Jason is working with Virtualware (UK) to develop cognitive rehabilitation software for a dementia care project.
