Introduction
Globus a file transfer service that connects two endpoints (locations) and provides a secure and efficient method of transferring data collections. You need to have an endpoint installed before you can transfer any data.
Instructions
Logging on to Globus using your UCL account
You can log to Globus via this link. You need to use organizational login and the organization should be University College London (not UCL). After selecting the organization and clicking continue, you will be prompted for your UCL credentials which will will enable you to log on.
Installing a Globus Endpoint
You must have a endpoint installed before you can download any data. The endpoint can be installed on any computer and the endpoint can be linked to any drives you have access to. For example, you can install an endpioint on your laptop, then link your RDSS drive to the endpoint and download data to it. To install, please follow the instructions from the Globus website where there is a page for every operating system. Be sure to follow the configuration section in the instructions to help you add different locations like your mounted RDSS drive to the endpoint
Transfering data with Globus

Sharing data with Globus
To share data with Globus, you will first need to be added to a special security group. Please contact us using the details below to request to be added. Once added to the security group, you can follow the instructions from the Globus website to help you share data.
