Research IT and Library Services run regular drop-in sessions for all research staff and research students where you can get support and advice to help plan and tackle problems with your research. If you have any problems related to the following areas, we should be able to help:
- choosing the right software, hardware and services,
- research programming,
- task automation and scripting,
- high performance computing,
- storing large datasets,
- Research Data Storage (RDS) service induction,
- handling sensitive data,
- research data management (including writing data management plans).
Booking a session
During the college closure due to COVID-19, the sessions are now via advance booking only and will take place online via Microsoft Teams (see ISD's Teams support site for help with getting set up for online meetings). Please email a short summary of your problem to rits@ucl.ac.uk at least 2 days before the virtual session you would like to attend, and we will arrange a Teams call with someone from the relevant team. (Slots will either be for 30 or 60 minutes depending on the nature of your query, and follow up support calls can be arranged if necessary).
