Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
The following information was taken from the Airia VPAT, last updated on 6 May 2026.
Data tables in graphs are not supported. This fails WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content (A).
Audio description is not currently supported. This fails WCAG 1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded) (A) and WCAG 1.2.5 Audio Description (Prerecorded) (AA).
Several modules do not convey information, structure, and relationships programmatically or through text. Affected modules include Governance, Security, Chat/Omni, Billing, KG, MCP Gateway, as well as Platform Screens. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A).
Some colours in graphs are low in contrast against adjacent colours, and some lines are identifiable by colour alone. This fails WCAG 1.4.1 Use of Colour (A).
Various screens are missing specific functionality when using the keyboard:
- You cannot select folders in the file picker window on the Create/Edit DS screen
- Hitting Enter on Info adds the MCP server to the MCP Gateway
- Keyboard navigation is limited in Settings > Log management > Audit log dropdown
- You cannot tab over the Ingestion Logs table in Feed > Data ingestion
- You cannot tab out of the table below the two pie charts in Feed > Conversation
- You cannot tab over the Agent Execution feeds table in Feed > Agent Execution
- The Delete confirmation modal does not close when Esc is pressed
- Publish options are inaccessible by keyboard in Publish Agent
This fails WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard (A).
The session timeout warning screen is not displayed on session termination. This fails WCAG 2.2.1 Timing Adjustable (A).
Skip to content links are not yet available on all screens. This fails WCAG 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks (A).
The link to skip to the first item on the board in Input Settings leads to an inaccessible PDF parser. This fails WCAG 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks (A).
Focus order is not intuitive on Feeds > Agent Execution > Timestamp > Agent Execution Log, or after Version History section, and back navigation does not work after selecting filters in list views across components. This fails WCAG 2.4.3 Focus Order (A).
All screens may contain form components that do not have names or roles that can be programmatically determined, or states, properties, and values that can be programmatically set. This fails WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A).
Text cannot be resized without assistive technology up to 200% without loss of functionality. This fails WCAG 1.4.4 Resize Text (AA).
At 200% magnification and higher, there is horizontal scrolling and elements that loop off the edge of the page so content is lost. This fails WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow (AA).
On some screens, pointer input targets may not meet the minimum size of 24 x 24 CSS pixels. This fails WCAG 2.5.8 Target Size (Minimum) (AA).
On the landing page, the close button on the “Intro to Agent Builder” pop-up is not named. This fails WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (AA).
On the catalogue page, there is no visible keyboard focus indicator on the agent search field. This fails WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible (AA).
In the Assistant/Chat screen, some buttons are unlabelled (e.g. plus button in the chat area). This fails WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A).
Disproportionate burden
At this time, we have not made any disproportionate burden claims.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
This section covers issues that we do not need to fix right now. The law calls these exemptions.
Third-party content
Our websites contain third-party content. We do not have control over and are not responsible for the accessibility of this content, but we make best endeavours to work with the third-party to improve its accessibility. This may include:
- links to non-UCL websites
- content/functionality on our website
- content hosted on other websites, such as social media sites.
To help accessibility compliance across the sector, University College London supports searchBOX, a centralised, independent directory of third-party accessibility information.
searchBOX catalogues the contact information and accessibility statements of third-party suppliers, enables the sharing of community-generated accessibility statements, and allows users to map their supplier ecosystem.
Users can access third-party accessibility statements using the free searchBOX Finder service.
University College London encourages all our partners and suppliers to support this effort by ensuring that their accessibility information is included in the searchBOX directory.
