Software and training for accessibility.
UCL already has a range of software for staff and students to use on Desktop@UCL and through the software database. More information can be found on the UCL networked assistive software page.
Read&Write – is a text to speech software and can be accessed remotely during this period of campus closure. The video below demonstrates how you can access Read&Write via a take home access code which you will need to request.
Read and Write and Inspiration are now available on Desktop Anywhere for UCL users.
SuperNova – is screen magnifier software. The parent company Dolphin is offering three months of free usage during this period. You can choose any edition of Supernova: Magnifier, Magnifier & Speech or Magnifier & Screen Reader.

Dolphin Easy Reader – this is a free app which can be used for accessing books from the RNIB Bookshare. It reads both EPUB and PDF and downloads are available for both iOS and Android.
JAWS and MS Teams – If you use the JAWS screen reader app Freedom Scientific have released a free training course and some excellent cheat sheets for those that want to use Teams with JAWS.
Sonocent - this software enables you to record lectures and add photographs and notes. If you have a copy of AudioNotetaker you will also be able to download these recordings to your PC to edit and use with Word.
