About the project
The Freedom Law Clinic run unique programmes which harness the power of students to provide vital resource for those who are not able to afford representation and might otherwise be denied access to justice. You can can explore the work of the Freedom Law Clinic here

Freedom Law Clinic is looking for a group of students to steer an online law festival from 21st to 27th July. The vision is to create a series of ten or more events aimed at students who are considering alternative routes to practice or who would like to enhance their legal skills.

The events will include a number of sessions to increase students’ commercial awareness, advocacy skills, practice client handling and voice training. Webinars will include discussing alternative routes to practice, how to balance a family with a legal career, and transferable skills for barristers/solicitors.

About the Role
The team will be responsible for creating and managing the legal events and encouraging students from around the UK and internationally to participate.

All candidates must be available to engage with the team between May and the end of July 2022.

All project roles are on a voluntary basis.

  • Project Manager: responsible for overseeing the project and the student project team as well as interfacing with the clinic management team.
  • Digital Marketing Manager: responsible for defining the social media strategy for the event series and then uploading social media content on our various platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, the website, Twitter etc.
  • Speaker Coordinator: responsible for recruiting and managing guest speakers.
  • Student Recruitment Coordinator: responsible for recruiting student participants from around the UK and internationally.
  • Event Coordinators: 5 to 10 students each responsible for managing or supporting 2 to 3 of the online events.

Please complete the linked form by Monday 2nd May. The Centre for Access to Justice will be nominating two students to the Freedom Law Clinic. 

There may be other opportunities to get involved outside of the two nominees.
