Taught Postgraduate Transition Policy 2018-19

Education Committee has agreed the following policy determining when the new regulations will be implemented for each cohort of students.

For assessibility purposes, the following page is also available as a PDF via:

The Transition Policy is designed as a reference point for Boards of Examiners when making decisions and covers the most common scenarios that might arise.

There are occasionally more complex cases which require more individualised solutions. If you are unsure about the most appropriate course of action, please contact the Academic Policy and Quality Assurance team at academicregulations@ucl.ac.uk who can discuss precedents and options with you.

From September 2018, the following sections of the 2018-19 regulations apply to all students, regardless of their status or year of enrolment:

1. Overarching Principles of Assessment
2. Assessment Information
4. Examinations
5. Reasonable Adjustments
6. Extenuating Circumstances
7. Marking & Moderation
8. Assessment Feedback
12. Interim Qualifications
13. Boards of Examiners
14. Award of Degrees

The following regulations will depend on the academic session on which the student is enrolled:

3. Module Assessment - inc. calculation of module marks, marking scales, non-condonable components, removal of ‘Completion’, late submissions, word counts
9. Progression & Award – inc. Condonement
