Transition Policies

Which regulations apply to students who are interrupted, deferred, resitting or repeating from previous years?

Education Committee has agreed the following policies to act as a reference point for Boards of Examiners when making decisions. It covers the most common scenarios that might arise, however there are occasionally more complex cases which require more individualised solutions. If you are unsure about the most appropriate course of action, please contact the Academic Policy and Quality Assurance team at academicregulations@ucl.ac.uk who can discuss precedents and options with you.

Undergraduate Condonement Mitigation Policy

Will the new UG condonement regulations affect students’ classifications?

Whilst the majority of regulatory changes apply to all students as soon as they enrol on the 2018-19 academic session, UCL Education Committee has agreed that the new UG Classification regulations will be phased in to ensure that UCL meets the requirements of the Competitions and Markets Authority (CMA). As a result, there will be a number of years in which the new Condonement regulations and the old Classification regulations are applied together.
