Our sustainability plan
UCL’s Sustainability Plan 2025–2035 sets out our long-term commitment to addressing the global climate emergency and advancing environmental sustainability across our institution.
Building on the foundation of our previous strategy, Change Possible (2019–2024), this new plan reflects the insights of our community and the strength of our research. It outlines a clear framework for action, with measurable goals that support progress in climate action, biodiversity, responsible consumption, and education and research.
For over 200 years, UCL’s founding principles of academic excellence and innovative research have empowered us to address the world’s most pressing challenges. In the face of climate change, biodiversity loss and resource depletion, that legacy is more vital than ever. As we look to the future, this plan ensures we continue to lead with integrity, ambition and accountability—creating positive impact for our university, our communities and the wider world.
