After launching in 2015, UCL Press surpassed 10 million downloads in 2024. has By its 10 millionth download, it had published 339 books and 14 journals, spanning disciplines from history and philosophy to the sciences and anthropology. The 10 million downloads were made up of over 8.7 million downloads of UCL Press’ books and more than 2.6 million downloads of its journals. UCL Press has reached readers in 242 countries and territories, providing vital access to research, particularly for those in the Global South.
The 10 millionth download was the journal article A Short History of the Successes and Failures of International Climate Change Negotiations, highlighting the impact of UCL Press in addressing global challenges. One of its most popular publications, How the World Changed Social Media by Professor Daniel Miller, has been downloaded over 828,000 times and translated into multiple languages.
