Supported by the Research England, Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF), the website is dedicated to increasing the visibility of first-generation academics in philosophy (those from non-academic family backgrounds) by providing a space for their experiences, perspectives and ideas.
Contributions to the site include personal reflections and scholarly writing about the influence that family background can have on first-generation academics, as well as the obstacles they encounter. The initiative seeks to promote a more comprehensive approach to diversity and inclusion in philosophy by exploring the intersections of class with race and gender.
