The campaign underscores UCL’s expertise in addressing the biodiversity crisis and shaping a healthier future for both humanity and the natural world.
In October 2024, UCL colleagues attended COP16, to take part in discussions and events to explore how the university’s world-leading, multidisciplinary research can contribute to tackling the pressing challenges of biodiversity loss. The research offers vital insights into the issues at hand and presents solutions to help meet the goals of the Global Biodiversity Framework.
UCL’s commitment to sustainability has garnered global recognition, with the university ranking first in the UK and fifth worldwide in the QS Sustainability Rankings 2025. Alongside the Biodiversity Campaign, UCL is driving sustainability through three other major initiatives: Positive Climate, The Loop, and Wild Bloomsbury.
