Inspiring new objects

The Petrie's ancient collection has already led to a Victorian image archive of the objects, sites and people involved with the Museum's foundation. In the 21st century, objects and archives are still inspiring artists as part of their studies and commissions.

UCL and Central St Martins (UAL) annually bring second year students to the Petrie to create new artworks based on the museum and collection. The diversity of the Petrie collection inspires artists to create very varied physical and digital art.

The Petrie's collaboration with Central St Martin's has grown into an annual exhibition merging digital and more traditional forms of art. This cartoon exhibits an interpretation of objects such as this God's head, representing a link between the people and their Gods.
