Daniel Scott


Daniel designs structural monitoring systems for the construction industry.

Prior to taking a position with the 3DIMPact team, he spent over 10 years in industry where he was involved in sensor design, testing and calibration, on-site installation, system design, and data analysis. His experience spans rail, dams, towers, tunnels and other major infrastructure works, including the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, Heathrow Terminal 5, Thameslink upgrade, Victoria Station Upgrade and Crossrail.

Daniel has been involved in a number of technological developments within the monitoring industry, including Electrolevel & Bassett Convergence System improvements, MEMS & radio based sensors, web-based data visualisation and Automated Total Stations.

He holds an MSc in Information Systems, an MRes in Virtual Environments Imaging and Visualisation, and is currently pursuing an EngD by investigating uses of photogrammetry in tunnel monitoring, as well as novel data management and visualisation methods including augmented and virtual realities.
