| Membership Amicus welcomes any member of staff in the Higher Education sector who wishes to join. However, the union is only recognised to negotiate on behalf of technical and related staff (associate professional, some specialist medical, eg MLSOs and PAMs). We therefore recommend other staff to consider joining the appropriate recognised trade union for their staff group. These are: Academic, Research and senior Administrative staff UCU Clerical, Manual and Craft staff UNISON If a member of these staff groups prefers to join Amicus, we will accept their membership application. Amicus Membership Membership rates are currently £9.95 per month (including political fund contributuions - members who opt out pay £9.37) for full time workers and can be paid weekly, every 4 weeks, every month, every quarter, every 6 months or annually. There are reduced rates for part time workers and those in apprenticeships and formal trainee schemes. Subscriptions can be paid by cash, cheque, credit card, direct debit or by deduction from your salary ("check off").
