Research
My main research is on the different ways of understanding pictorial representation. Two key questions that I try to answer is How is it possible for a picture to refer to actual or fictional objects? and Can a picture be truth evaluable? This research is supported by the British Society of Aesthetics.
Next to this, I am working on a host of other issues, ranging from the normative status of irrationality and possible degrees of mental agency, to the justification of capital punishment and the possibility of political art.
At Heythrop College I work as a research assistant for Dr. Michael Lacewing, working on moral psychology, metaethics and the philosophy of psychoanalysis.
