Modelagem de Interações entre Operações de Ônibus e Fluxos de Tráfego

by Paulo Silva and Nick Tyler

Abstract

Simulation models in general pay little attention to the presence of buses in mixed traffic. Not all of such models differentiate between buses and other heavy vehicles and, when they do so, they simply establish where and for how long the buses stop. Such simplification lets important aspects of bus operations pass unnoticed, as well as the reaction of other vehicles to the presence of buses in traffic systems. This paper reports the progress of a research project intended to produce a model that represents in detail the phenomena associated to bus operations in urban traffic, highlighting its applicability to the public transport management.
