Title: Optimised Compact Difference Schemes for Computational Acoustics Authors: Christopher Beckwith, Koulis Pericleous, Valid Borajevics Abstract: A number of optimised high-order compact finite difference schemes are presented, following different optimisation strategies. The schemes aim to provide the best possible resolving efficiency among the family of 5 parameter, 6-node stencil schemes. Comparisons are then provided against already used schemes, such as the DRP derived schemes of Kim and Lee (1996), or the “spectral-like” schemes provided by Lele(1991). Numerical results from benchmark cases in 1D and 3D will also be presented, validating the new schemes and the developed code.
