Research Interests
Glasses and biomaterials for biomedical applications (bone repair, tissue regeneration, cancer radiotherapy)
I aim at rationalising the dissolution/degradation/bioactivity behaviour of a biomaterial based on:
(a) Bulk structure: nanoscale features (chains, loops, rings, clusters, inter-tetrahedral links) beyond network connectivity
(b) Diffusion mechanism and migration paths of modifier ions in the bulk glass
(c) Adsorption and reactivity at the glass surface

Titanium oxide surfaces: Adsorption, electronic and catalytic properties

"Maya Blue" inorganic-organic hybrid materials
