Dr Silvia Bergamini

Silvia worked in our group from October 2004 to January 2006. She then joined the Open University, where she is currently a Senior Lecturer.

Dr Yuval Cohen

Yuval studied Natural Sciences at the University of Birmingham (MSci). He joined the group as PhD student in October 2017. He continued as post-doc research associate from October 2021 to April 2022.

Dr Brendan Darrer

Brendan joined the group in 2013, when he undertook a short-term research project on Magnetic Induction Tomography. He continued his work as a PhD student until 2016. After his VIVA, Brendan worked as a PDRA until the second part of 2018.

Dr Soliman Edris

Soliman studied Physics at UCL (MSc) and he then joined the group in 2012 as a PhD student.

Dr Alexandros Giatzoglou

Alexandros studied Physics at the University of Patras (BSc) and at the University of Cranfield (MSc). He joined the group as PhD student in September 2015. He joined RAL Space in January 2019 and, after his VIVA in March 2019, he moved permanently there as a Quantum Sensors Research Scientist.

Dr Ralf Gommers

Ralf Gommers studied for a PhD in our group from 2005 to 2007.

Dr Lorenzo Gori

Lorenzo studied Physics at the University of Florence (MSc and PhD). He worked in our group as post-doc from March to October 2016. He then left for a position of high school teacher in his native Florence.

Dr Roberta Guilizzoni

Roberta studied Physics at the University of Milan (MSc). She joined the group as PhD student in November 2013. After her successful VIVA in 2017, Roberta moved the National Physical Laboratory, where she holds a permanent research position in the Electronic and Magnetic Materials group.

Dr Sarah Hussain

Sarah studied Medical Physics at UCL. She joined the group as PhD student in October 2014. Sarah worked on applications of atomic magnetometers to security imaging for screening. Sarah left our group after her VIVA in January 2018.

Dr Krishna Jadeja

Krishna studied Physics (MSci) at UCL and joined the group as a PhD student in October 2017, and graduated in 2022.

Prof Philip Jones

Phil worked in our group from October 2003 to September 2004. He was then appointed to an academic position at UCL, where he is now a Professor.

Dr Vyacheslav Lebedev

Vyacheslav studied for a PhD in our group from 2006 to 2010.

Dr Andrea Loreti

Andrea studied Physics at the University "La Sapienza" in Rome (MSc) and at UCL (PhD). He joined our group between April 2017 and March 2018 as post-doc research associate.

Dr Benjamin Maddox

Ben joined our group as a Phd student in October 2018. He continued as post-doc research associate from January 2022 to October 2023.

Dr Raffaele Nolli

Raffaele studied Engineering at the University of Milan (MSc). He joined our group in 2013 as a PhD student. After his VIVA in 2017, he moved to a post-doc position in Birmingham.

Tanapoom Poomaradee (a.k.a. Pik)

Tanapoom studied Physics at the Chiang Mai University (Thailand). He joined the group as PhD student in October 2014. He then moved to a permanent research position in Thailand.

Dr Jenelle Rajroop

Jenelle studied Medical Physics at UCL. She joined the group as PhD student in October 2014. Jenelle worked on a joint experiment with NPL, until her VIVA in 2018.

Dr Michela Venturelli

Michela studied Physics at the University of Milan. She joined our group in October 2013 as PhD student. Since November 2016 she is a research assistant in the group. After her successful VIVA, Michela moved on to a job in the private sector in September 2018.

Dr Arne Wickenbrock

Arne joined out group in March 2007 for a PhD. From 2012 to August 2014 he continued his work with us as research assistant. Since then, he works in the Budker's group in Mainz (Germany).

Dr Cameron Deans

Cameron studied Mathematics at the University of Oxford. He joined our group in October 2015 as PhD student within the UCL CDT in Delivering Quantum Technologies. He obtained his PhD in Physics at UCL in November 2018. Cameron then continued his work in our group as a post-doctoral resesearch associate until October 2020. ORCID ID: 0000-0002-5264-8533

Dr Antonio Vigilante

Antonio Vigilante studied Physics at the Roma III University and obtained his MSc in 2016. He then studied for his Ph.D. in Experimental Physics at the University of Siena. During his Ph. D. he worked on atomic magnetometry applied to Ultra-Low Field NMR and MRI; he obtained his Ph. D. in 2019. Antonio worked in our group from April 2020 to March 2021 as a UCLQ Postdoctoral Researcher, investigating the use of atomic magnetometers as high sensitivity sensors for electromagnetic signal detection.
