Welcome to the homepage for the research group on quantum collective dynamics in light-matter systems, led by Dr Marzena Szymańska. We are part of the AMOPP and CMMP groups in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at UCL and also the London Centre for Nanotechnology.

  • semiconductor micro- and nano-structures: microcavities, quantum wells and wires, excitons, polaritons
  • ultra-cold atomic gases and Feshbach resonances
  • circuit and cavity QED systems
  • lasers
Methods we use:
  • non-equilibrium field theory path integrals and Green functions
  • dynamical equations of motions such as stochastic Gross-Pitaevskii equations and equations for higher order cumulants
