About the IMA and how membership of a professional body supports your applications and subsequent career development.
There will be refreshments after the talk in the Maths Common Room and you will also have the chance to speak to Erica in person if you have any questions.

Joss Matthewman and Edward Hoyle (UCL Maths graduates) will give us a talk entitled:
"Catastrophe Modelling and Investing for a Hedge Fund: Two Maths Graduates Discuss their Lives and Careers after UCL"

Both speakers have had impressive careers since graduating from UCL and we hope that they can give you some insight into what it takes to get to the top, as well as what being at the top actually involves.

Tomorrow’s Mathematics Today Conference


This annual conference for Maths undergraduates is a wonderful opportunity for those of you interested in research, or just Maths in general. It involves giving a talk during a one-day conference, with the best talk receiving a prize of £300 (if being able to present a talk in front of a room full of mathematicians is not an incentive enough for you). The event takes place on the 15th February and registration closes on December 31st. For more information, click here:

Mathematics Barbecue


There will be a freshers' barbeque for 1st year Mathematics students in the subsequent week on Friday 4th October from 5.30pm - 9.00pm in the Wilkins Front Quad, on the main Gower Street site, organised by ADM Maths Society. In case of rain, this event will be held in the Wilkins North Cloisters, Wilkins Building.
