Michael Worton: Fielden Professor of French Language & Literature.

Michael has written extensively on modern French Literature and on issues in critical theory and on gender theory.His publications include Textuality and Sexuality: Reading Theories and Practices, co-edited with Judith Still (Manchester University Press, 1995), Michel Tounier (Longman, 1995), Typical Men (Djanogly Art Gallery, 2001); the catalogue of the exhibition'Typical Men: Recent Photography of the Male Body by Men' co-curated with Judith Still; Women's Writing in Contemporary France. New Writers, New Literatures in the 1990s, edited with Gill Rye (Manchester University Press, 2002), National Healths: Gender, Sexuality and Health in a Cross-cultural Context, edited with Nana Wilson-Tagoe (UCL Press, 2004). Michael directs the UCL Mellon Programme

As UCL's Vice-Provost (Academic & International) Michael is responsible to the Provost for: developing and promoting UCL’s international strategy; overseeing Teaching & Learning and Quality Management & Enhancement; and maintaining a watching brief for Arts and Humanities, and Social and Historical Sciences.
