Dr Pushpa Arabindoo and Dr Sarah Bell were awarded a PhD studentship for this research project on the sustainability of manufactured water. The studentship will examine convergences and divergences in sustainability discourses in the global north and global south, through recent debates surrounding desalination plants in London and Chennai. Funding for this four-year programme of doctoral study and research comes from the BHP Billiton PhD Studentship in the newly established UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources.
