Join us for a talk and discussion exploring the work of photojournalist Adam Walker-Smith and his attempts to document what he sees as the dubious, hidden nature of security design currently being deployed in public spaces around the UK.

The event is part of UCL Urban Laboratory's Artist-in-Residence Max Colson's ongoing research project. Adam Walker-Smith is Max's paranoid photojournalist persona making enquiries into the hidden infrastructure of security design and control embedded in the UK built environment. The research project is funded by the Leverhulme Trust during the academic year 2014/15.

The discussion is aimed at anyone interested in the design and representation of the modern urban environment and what can lie beneath the surface in cities today.

You can follow Max Colson on Twitter, @MaxColson.
