Today, there are a multitude of actors that are designing and executing agendas to realise more sustainable, resilient, and liveable cities. These agendas are inspired by good governance, neoliberalisation and globalisation, grassroots activism and social movements, and so on, that frame and act upon the cities in multiple ways.

This workshop run by Andrew Karvonen (KTH Royal Institute of Technology) provides an opportunity for urban researchers to compare and contrast the spatial, temporal, and political characteristics of these varying approaches to urban change. Through an open dialogue and discussion, attendees will share selected findings from their own research to collectively explore the various currents of contemporary urban change.

To attend you must be a current postgraduate research student at UCL, and should attend the previous day's lecture by Andrew Karvonen as part of the Urban Laboratory Lecture Series.
