We are pleased to be hosting the acclaimed author and academic, Amit Chaudhuri, to mark the merger of the UCL Department of English's City Centre into the Urban Lab's Cities Imaginaries programme.

The lecture is titled, 'The New Provinces: a writer's changing relationship to the ordinary in the time of globalisation'.

Matthew Beaumont (Urban Laboratory Co-director and UCL English) will chair the event, and Amit Chaudhuri will be introduced by Pushpa Arabindoo (Urban Laboratory Co-director and UCL Geography).

This event is open to all on a first come, first served basis, so make sure you arrive in time. Please consult this page for details of getting to the Wilkins Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre from Gower Street.

The lecture forms part of UCL Urban Laboratory's week-long exhibition and programme of events, Cities Methodologies.
