UrbanLab Films and the Migration Research Unit, UCL are pleased to present the London premiere of The Golden Temple, a film exploring the London Olympics.

The Golden Temple captures the spirit and atmosphere of the last year before the Olympic Games, exploring the construction of three temples: commercial, physical and spiritual. The film explores the grand narrative of the Games through the lenses of consumerism, leisure and worship, and from the perspective of a cast of local people: residents, activists, entrepreneurs and intellectuals.

Enrico Masi (Italy, 1983), is a musician and director, who started focusing on cinema in 2006, with a long observation film essay called Shooting Postmoderno

His first experiment was a short filmed in France entitled La situation est Claire. In 2009, he shot Khalid, a documentary telling the story of a Moroccan man working in a wine factory during ramadan, which won awards at the Rome Doc Scient Fest - CNR and was presented at Visioni Italiane and the Festival du Film Panafricain de Cannes.

In 2010, Ulisse Futura premiered in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Together with Caucaso he edited Giussano, which looked into the Lega Nord political party.

Since 2008 Enrico has been working as a filmmaker and visual anthropologist at the Department of Education Studies, University of Bologna, participating in various projects related to video culture and in field-work research on postmodern studies, the clash of cultures and integration.

Caucaso is growing as an ensemble of production since 2004, in London, Bologna and Paris. Using cinema, fine art and music the group works in a cooperative way as a production company and independent label, expanding the concept of a stable study centre involved in education and generational contribution to knowledge and society.

The Golden Temple is the first feature length produced by the group in 2012.
