I'm the Public Engagement Co-ordinator for the CHI+MED project.
This is a six year research project, funded by the EPSRC, which runs
across four sites (UCL, Queen Mary, City University and Swansea
University) and whose aim is making medical devices safer. To do this
we'll be working with a range of different people including device
manufacturers, nurses and other medical practitioners, patients and the
people in the NHS who make the device purchasing decisions.
My role involves updating and maintaining the project's website and expanding our online presence to make it easier for the people we want to work with to find us, understand who we are and what we're doing, and to get in touch.
I work at UCLIC for two days a week and for the rest of the week I'm one of the Science Information Officers at Diabetes UK.
