Chris is involved in:
- Research examining factors underpinning the successful design, development and deployment of interactive medical devices.
- Industry wide support and advice on tools and techniques to optimise equipment safety and usability (e.g. personas, scenarios, use cases, design patterns).
- Disseminating knowledge of applicable standards and US / European regulatory frameworks (e.g. EU Medical Device Directives, IEC 62366:2007, ANSI/AAMI HE-75:2009).
Chris Vincent is a research associate working on the CHI+MED project at the UCL Interaction Centre (UCLIC). Chris aims to understand how industry can benefit from HCI practice and support methods that contribute towards safer interactive medical devices. Prior to joining UCL, Chris completed a PhD investigating the contribution of colour to visual memory. He has also spent four years working in the aviation industry, supporting the design and evaluation of fast jet decision-support aids.
