Research Summary

1) The development, evaluation and application of molecular techniques for the detection, quantification and genotyping of human viral pathogens in clinical samples and blood products. 2) Investigation of possible retroviral involvement in motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis. 3) Development of aptamer technology for application in the diagnosis of transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (prion diseases).
